Uh... Because we get an event and Final goes live?

They are suspending services on all servers ... so unless they merging all of them I doubt it's connected.It' s probably more to do with the Gracia Final update.

Besides, last time there was considerable advance notice before the mergers, doubt they 'd announce it today and merge them in a week.

They wouldn't merge anyway without all the racket they did last time with clan halls and stuff like that....if they do merge sometime that is one of the FEW things NC will tell us about in advance.

You and I were playing two different games BordrX!! (lol)
There was not very much notice, from the time we heard which servers were merging (for sure) to the merge was not at all a long time.
I don't recall it being much above a week and I distinctly remember that MANY player questions were poorly answered or unanswered right up until the merge time.
Worse, at the actual merge, many "systems" (to grant a kind term to the fiasco that ensued) appeared just cobbled together--including holding your own toon's name and the griefing that was enabled through that naming.
At the beginning of the first announced merges, NCSoft didn't even have clan hall ownership worked out!

I'd expect NCSoft to mess up any future servers very much like they did the first time. Good news though! The players will get to choose (via poll) between 3 or 4 preselected names for their newly merged server......that's it, players get to vote on a name. Nothing else. No other say--no other opinions considered, etc.

It was handled atrociously the first time.
