I'm surprised and disappointed at the amount of immature people on l2 nowadays... I don't know about everyone else, but I play this game to PVP. Leveling up and doing quests is only a bonus, to watch my character grow stronger, and learn new spells, and gain more benefits from new equipment.

That being said, I usually walk around the hunting zones, occasionally killing mobs but ultimately trying to start pvp. At first, since I'm a necro, I would use my cursed man to go hit someone ONCE, and I would wait for a reaction. SO many people called me a coward and a noob for doing that, I thought I must be doing something wrong. So I then resort to casting wind strike (a level 1 spell) on players i want to pvp with. This AGAIN gets me called a loser and a noob, for simply doing 200 dmg with a lvl 1 spell... You see, I don't want to ASK people to pvp: "Hey, pvp?" I want there to be that hesitation, tension and excitement after flagging someone, and seeing if they'll react.

Someone please tell me, am I wrong? The amount of hate I've gotten for trying to start pvp in a pvp-based game is RIDICULOUS, and sometimes after pvping with someone and losing, I'll admit my defeat and say, "Wow, good fight," to which the person will reply, "To village noob," or "BB." Honestly?? After being respectful and allowing you to hit me first after I flag, that's what you're gonna say to me? I've killed a lot of people by a landslide; they were dead and I still had half my CP. BUT I still said good fight, and NEVER called them a noob, or told them that they suck.

I'm not gonna sit here and say that all of this doesn't bother me; it does. I understand that the internet is fun because you can be who you want; someone you're not in real life. But I fail to see the pleasure in being a complete ******bag after someone is kind to you.

Tell me, is this normal in l2?

yes. you are overreacting because you play on a server where players cry if they die at lvl 30 because of a pk.

Its up to you, this game is open pvp and you can do what you want. Those same players you are talking about won't hesitate to fight back once they think they are high enough level to do so. Here is the thing though, everyone know the penalty is pretty harsh now for going red. So instead of fighting back they will talk smack and try to get you to kill them and go red. Then they will want to fight you to get a green name and they know you know have to lvl alot just burn off the rep. The system is messed up now but you can still do what you want.

That whole flagging with some random strike and waiting for them to hit you back has been done for ever. If it's somewhat a fair fight than I'll usually reply with a shot or something. The other day i took on a WC and and some sort of nuker when i had no buffs. The only real time i can remember smacktalking people that do that are like when people in S grade would go to like lvl 40 areas and wear C grade gear to make them look like they are the same level. Maybe that's what they think you are doing?

Not worth it if it's not a territory war anyways, why would I randomly PvP you in th emiddle of nowhere if I have nothing to gain from it?

You are only slowing me down for nothing; go suscribe for a territory war or for a siege as a mercenary; then there is plenty to gain even if you die a couple of times.

Top D grade is not hard to get, you are also slowing yourself down; before the race was to gear up and level, now the race is to awaken; gear you'll get along the way for free.

The PvP at over 70 is much more interesting and varied, it seemingly goes back to simple again post awakening (since there are only 8 classes) so why would you restrict yourself to a couple of skills anyways?

At that level it all goes down to gear, and everybody can be on top grade gear until S grade now; what's the point, really?

Before I could understand it: it took TOO LONG to get to over 60, and PvP under 40 was somewhat meaningful; but that's not true anymore.

A possibility, specially now that getting to 60 is a day's work at most without any grinding.

Seth, I can see your point of view, but low level pvp can be just as enjoyable as high level, if not more. There's no rule that says, "pvp over lvl 50 only," so why should we create that rule? Killing mobs all day gets tiring.. Are players more respectful at higher level? At this point, I sure hope so.

Different people have different goals in game. PVPing at 40 (especially in brand new servers) is kinda dumb since it puts you way behind the exp curve. And you don't "win" this game by having 100 pvps at lvl 40, you win it by locking out endgame. And to do that you need pve.

Beyond that F2P has allowed a lot of new players, most of them from vastly different l2 backgrounds. Some came from reasonably realistic priv servers, some came from x5000 PVP servers, different backgrounds, different understanding of the game

I believe most people find it rude, to be attacked out of the blue, most people are doing their own thing, minding their own business.

Now don't get me wrong about this being a pvp game by all mean it certainly is. I wouldn't go around attacking people and expect people to say something back like "Good day to you to sir, does this attack indicate you wish to partake in a pvp battle" Most people are going be annoyed by your action, and most likely call you a "Noob" "Scrub" "whats your problem bro".

So before you go around wanting to pvp, why don't you shout out "Anyone want to pvp?" Or something along those lines, I know you are looking for a adrenaline packed pvp battle, but most of those battles come with a bunch of smack talk and over the hunting area. When some ones Ego is on the line people tend to get more adrenaline.

I totally respect you for this my friend. I find quests and exping in this game ultra boring and whoever can say whatever they want this IS A PVP GAME.. Im always overjoyed when someone flags on me cuz i get to fight people which is fun and exciting. Unfortunately though this is real rare to happen and even when I come up to them and flag myself they`d just say random **** like GF or noob .. it`s a shame that there`s such a lack of action even in the areas overcrowded with people .. well either way if you ever see me (Nanakon) ingame don`t hesitate to flag. I surely will fight back as long as the level difference isnt too high (like you`re S grade while I`m B grade) ... this game is to be fun not a workplace

Actually the only players who flag randomly are players from private servers because we are used to being thugs. Lawless, without mercy. We don't wanna be friends. We wanna be cruel. The only people who PK now on official are people from private servers. Cause they are used to it. So if you want random action, private servers are the best for it.

And yes, i know some people will say, "Private servers are for noobs, star wars lol x5000" well not all of them are made by BR kids, well at least we are not carebears

you will probably find yourself pvping a lot on higher places, specially the ones where you need to go with a group, most of the time you will find yourself fighting for spots
