Could you guys help me on something, i am having truble with holding agro on Teredor and in SoA on bistakons and reptilicons. The biggest problem is realy Teredor since SoA mobs at least respond to taunt. Teredor however ignores me completely half the time. I am lvl 86 and curently using a requiem cutter/health w/o element. My 1st thought was that my dmg is to low but whats up with being immune to taunt ?
P.S. It's the same on Zaken and Freya taunt and agro just doesnt work, tyrrs and rogues pull the agro immediately even right after a taunt when the boss spawns. |

challange aura helps.
but if the dds are some levels ahead of you, you will still having problems keeping aggro on yourself. In bistakon/reptiles its not uncommon (from my experience) that mobs leave the aoe-hate and go for another target - chain them back and single hate them. Also using your aoe-dmg-skills helps keeping the aggro on multiple groups. Teredor sometimes goes for random targets .. not much you can do about it. If you go with random grps make sure everyone knows what to do, its pretty easy for some1 to mess up the raid, so that the tank will have a pretty hard time to get the aggro back on him. |

Most common is that dds rush to aoe mobs before the Tank uses Mass Hate Some mobs target healer as soon as it comes to their range if they aren't under hate already. Sometimes dd does a lot dmg and so the mob change target but this isn't common. Spam Your AoE Hate always to avoid that. Teredor It's usually when it is about to leave. Nobody should be in his way at that time (actually never be in his way...because you don't know when it will jump). He jumps dealing AoE dmg. Sometimes I have seen Tank losing target too but its not common. Keep spamming your Hate skills and also attack. |

Ive not tanked teredor yet but i have in SoA and sometimes archers/rouges pull aggro with their 1/2 kill skills....what i reccomend in SoA is this...b4 your party starts to kill, make sure ya tell them them NOT to hit until all straggling mobs are on you and you have "Hated" them ALL ( have them look for the "hate aura above the heads of the mobs" b4 they hit)....doing this helps out alot ( as my tank is an alt toon and not elemented armor or weapon ) You are the leader of any party as the tank, so if ppl dont want to listen...do what i do and BSOE out on their *** and let em all die and form up another party

i have never faced problems with my agro in soa.if sometimes they change targets just pull them back with chain strike (i so love it it reminds me scorpion from mortal combat
).only sometimes u face some problems are on repts cause mobs are slow and coming so slow to gather all but still is avoidable and if u react fast u still got them all and happy AOE as far teredor when he random agros just root.in 3-4 secs max u take back the agro of teredor and all are happy and none dies.

Use ur mp. Theres so many tanks out there that only use Hate and Hate aura and then cry when they cant keep aggro, THATS WHY YOU USE YOUR OTHER SKILLS.

As posted before 1st thing u can do on teredor is switch to challenge aura.
Another important thing is when DD`s take aggro off you make sure u tell him to stop dps`ing so you can rebuild your threat on the boss. Make sure you use all your skills especially for aoe tanking, and dont forget to you use single target hate on mobs that are set to attack the healers at all time like 'Demonic Bamonti' in Harnak for example. Keep Chain strike skill on a convenient keybind to make sure you can pull back the stubborn mobs and keep your squishy partymembers safe Keep in mind that most of your aoe skills deal damage in a cone area in front of your character so positioning for maximum damage/threat is vital And most importantly when dealing with mouthbreathers that start dps-ing before you use hate aura...LET THEM DIE !

Like many have stated, I think your main problem is that your DD's are attacking to early. It is critical that the DD's wait a few seconds for you to establish Mass Aggro.
How to establish the initial aggro? 1. Make sure you have your Challenge Aura active when you pull mobs. 2. Use "Superior Hate Aura" 3. Use "Chain Galaxy" 4. Use "Mass Shackling" 5. "Chain Strike" and mobs outside your mass of aggro and use "Superior Hate" single target on them. This complete cycle should take you know more then 2-4 seconds. Make sure none of the DD's start to attack and make sure your healer does not heal until the aggro is established. You should be fine if your healer knows what he is doing. IE he should be using his HoTs as well as his direct heals. Make sure you mark the targets too. This really does help alot if used properly by you the tank and by the DD's. If a tank takes the time to mark a target the DD's should take the time to attack the marked targets. How many times do you hear in ventrilo someone saying, "I can not hit the target, there are too many mobs on top of each other?" This problem is easily remedied with the target marking system. NCsoft was kind enough to add the Target Tokens to the game. So, /token1 your targets and DD's make sure you /targettoken1 . That way you hit what you are supposed to hit. Last thing for the tanks. Make sure you use the proper Aura's. If you pull with Challenge Aura and establish aggro, you can switch to different aura's which can enhance your parties DPS. Last thing, do not forget your Knight Cubic and Focus shield. Goodluck and have fun! |

Thank you all for your replyes. They were all realy helpful. What about weapons ? Does the pattk matter ? How about elements on the tanks weapon? Since most dmg comes from skills element doesn't do much am i right ?
